What Looplang stores and why
Looplang keeps what it needs to run your practice. Nothing you add is shown to other learners unless you choose to share it.
What we store
- Your account: your email address and sign-in details.
- Your practice: each answer you give (what you chose or typed, and whether it was right), your saved phrases and your progress, so you can continue on any device.
- What you add: your own words and phrases, interview or first-day details (role, company, job advert, date, what worries you), facts about you, and loops you create.
- Your CV, if you upload one: the file and the text read from it, kept in private storage only your account can open.
- Recordings, if you use speaking features: kept in private storage only your account can open.
It is stored with our database provider, Supabase, in the EU (Frankfurt). A copy of your practice is also kept in this browser, so the next card never waits for the network.
What AI sees
When you ask Looplang to write German for you (checking a phrase, building phrases from your CV or job advert, or making a custom loop), the text you give it is sent to OpenAI to write and check that German. Your CV text is sent only when you ask Looplang to read it. Practice cards never call AI: every card is prepared in advance.
German written for you is marked AI-made or My phrase. It is checked by a second AI pass, not by a person. Official loops are written and reviewed by us.
What we count
To see which pages and tools help people, Looplang counts visits and a few actions: starting and finishing a der/die/das round, and signing up. This uses PostHog, hosted in the EU, without cookies or anything stored in your browser. The counts are anonymous: they are not linked to your account, your email or your practice.
Deleting
- Delete your CV at any time from your interview details. The file and its text are removed.
- Remove phrases, interviews and custom loops in the app. Their practice history is kept until you delete your account.
- Delete your account from Profile. It permanently removes everything above, including your files, on every device.
